Plants get their minerals and nutrients from their potting mix which is a form of plant food, coupled with the additional sunlight and air and your plant will thrive.

Observing the plant

By observing your plant, you can figure out what is going on with it. If it turns yellow and appears wrinkled it is an indicator that your plant might be thirsty. But if you notice a mottled pattern, you might want to check for pests. A black spot in the middle of the leaf can be a sign of a bacterial or fungal infection and you need to act. However, if you notice any pests, get an insecticide, and spray the leaf, this wipes off any bugs or pests it is advisable to wash your hands thoroughly after handling the insecticide.

Adjusting to the seasons

During the winter plants go dormant and the plants will experience less active growth in such a case it is advisable to water your plant less frequently compared to the original routine. You can also choose to use a humidifier, they help in adjusting the temperature of the room making the room favorable for plant growth, however, you can also consider misting as another option. To improvise you can also fill a saucer with water and some rocks and then put your plant on top of it. But, be careful not to get your plant too cold as it will affect its growth.

Low light plants

Another important factor that determines the efficiency of the growth of your plant is light some plants do not need too much sun for proper growth this is because some plants can grow in your home without demanding too much sunlight, examples of these plants include the ZZ plant and the Snake plant which are mostly grown indoors.
